Menstruation is one of the most natural bodily processes, yet there is still a great deal of silence surrounding it in a culture that takes great pride in equality and development. However, millions of women and girls experience shame, quiet conversation, and treatment that suggests their periods should be kept private. In addition to perpetuating gender inequity, the stigma associated with menstruation causes severe emotional and psychological harm since it is firmly ingrained in social norms and cultural taboos. This essay aims to dismantle the layers of this stigma, addressing the guilt head-on and promoting a society in which menstruation is viewed as a potent symbol of strength and life rather than as a curse.

Period is a normal and important physiological phenomenon which usually begin at around the age of 12. Some girls will start them later, and some earlier – everyone is different. Menstruation is normal vaginal bleeding that occurs as part of a woman’s monthly cycle. Appropriate amounts of sex hormones are ideal for reproduction when your body is in homeostasis, which is indicated by regular menstruation. You feel fantastic, have lots of energy, and get good sleep when these hormones are in harmony. Menstruation also serves as the body’s natural cleaner. Your body eliminates extra iron throughout your menstrual cycle, which lowers your chance of cardiovascular illnesses. It is an essential procedure for preserving general health since it also aids in the removal of pollutants.

Menstruation is a gift. In many ancient culture, menstrual cycle was linked to the phases of the moon, menstruating women were thought to possess enormous “shamanic” and spiritual power.
